The Ankolam factory is where our inserts are actually made: the Wuxi base (No. 38 Feng’er Road, Meicun, Xinwu District) carries wire drawing and coil winding; the second site adds automatic lathes, Swiss-type machining and CNC turning. Together: ~20,000 m², 128 dedicated machines, and an in-house inspection room — a factory you can audit, not a trading desk.

Location & Site Layout
The Wuxi base sits in Meicun, Xinwu District — the manufacturing heart of the Yangtze River Delta, 40 minutes from Shanghai by high-speed rail with fast sea/air export logistics. The plant houses wire drawing, coil winding, the inspection room and finished-goods stock; a 2,000 m²-class new workshop investment commissioned in 2021 added processing and assembly capacity, with a further 10,000 m² expansion planned together with a national-level testing laboratory program.

This chain — material proven, profile drawn in-house, winding controlled, release inspected — is what “factory-direct” actually means at Ankolam. The largest outside variable in insert quality (bought wire profile) simply is not outside here.

Machining capability across the group: turning from Ø0.5 mm (±0.01 mm tolerance on automatic lathes) up to Ø250 mm on CNC lathes, milling to 800×600 mm (±0.05 mm), grinding to ±0.002 mm, thread rolling M8–M36, stamping up to 1,200 t. Batch flexibility is real: the same plant runs serial volumes and one-off custom dimensions.
Stock & Delivery
Finished and semi-finished stock on common sizes shortens routine delivery by about half — the difference between a stockout story and a shipping date. Production planning holds 7×24 responsiveness for global time zones.
In-Process Quality Control on the Line
First-piece approval opens every batch; patrol inspection holds geometry through the run; full-size sampling precedes packing; and release is 100% dimensional inspection in the inspection room (optical measuring system, tool microscope, tensile tester, hardness, salt spray — full equipment list on the quality control page).
From Wuxi to the World
Programs from aerospace, gas turbine, semiconductor and data center industries are supplied from this plant (see case studies). Export documentation, Mill Test Certificates and supplier-qualification packages are handled in-house.
